Step 1: Schedule Your Workouts for Each Day
Once you get into the habit of working out on a daily basis, you’ll want to find ways to be more disciplined about scheduling your workouts.
For instance, you can take a break and then move right into a set of exercises. If you only have fifteen minutes for a shower, use those minutes to do some calisthenics. The key here is to make sure that you don’t overwork yourself, or push yourself to the point of exhaustion, but instead do a variety of exercises that don’t tax your body too much.
Your routine can change over time, as well. If you’re not into weight training now, but would like to add some of the exercises to your regimen, you can switch your workouts up to reflect that.
You can also have your workouts divided into different time periods.
After your workout, for instance, you might spend a few minutes doing cardiovascular exercises such as jogging. Once you’ve finished those, it’s time to move onto strength training. This is where you do many reps of pressing exercises that are targeted toward that specific muscle. After that, you should do your stretching routine.
Then, it’s time to cool down.
Step 2: Make sure That You Have the Right Amount of Time to Work Out
When you start to stick to a schedule for your workout, you might find that you’re finding it hard to fit everything in.
You’re working longer hours, and some of your meetings have been pushed back. That means that the amount of time you have to exercise might seem to be shrinking.
It can be hard to motivate yourself to work out, because you want to just relax when you get home. It’s understandable, and that’s exactly the point: You want to take breaks so that you can get in the mood for another workout. It’s a normal thing to want to have that space to relax, but you need to force yourself to work out before you get to that point.
